A song I wrote around a poem which was written by my beloved late grandfather, Colin Maclean. The chorus of this song are the exact words which he penned about his favourite beach on Uist. He was my biggest inspiration of terms of my love for the Gaelic language and traditional Scottish music when I was growing up.

It was a cloudy cheerful noon and it felt like any other day
but what happened came too soon
it wasn't always supposed to be that way
and looking back there was a sign, it gave me peace within the hurricane
i remember what you wrote
the words they went like this

It was a gentle caring soul who held me close when i was just a babe

ensuring that peace for me was made
and oh the music could be heard in every step and moment you did take

Now another page is turned, your family tree has grown a new branch
And the one you held so dear asks about you everyday
I just want you to be proud of the lives that we have all made
